The morning of December 2 I got to enjoy some beautiful Holden Beach Photography with Charlene Mills. She wanted to celebrate the day of her birthday at one of her most favorite places in Brunswick County: Holden Beach Pier.

The temperature was rather cold but the sunrise cast a sweet golden glow. We started off facing the sun that had not yet risen. When on Holden Beach, the sun rises toward your left over the water. If all you see are the rays of the sun, then it’s not yet too bright. So it glowed on Charlene like it was saying “Happy Birthday Charlene! Welcome back to Holden Beach.”

As the sun rose and got brighter we turned our faces away from the sun and let it shine all around us. It reflected off the water at Holden Beach and gave us some fun flares and filled the sky with pastels. We headed toward the pier as the sun got brighter and used the shade of the pier to soften the light. Then as we walked about under the pier for various photos, Charlene received a birthday present from God. At her feet a beautiful fossilized sea biscuit lay in the sand. Now, that was a fun way to end a Holden Beach Photography session!
